Can Air Affect Your Health?
Symptoms

Headache, fatigue, poor concentration, dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath, irritation and infection of the repiratory tract, nasal problems, skin problems, eye problems – These are just a short list of some of the symptoms that may be attributed to poor indoor air quality. With the average person spending the majority of their time indoors, poor air quality has become an increasing concern. In fact, the EPA has labeled poor indoor air quality as one of the top five risks to public health.
Health Effects of Indoor Air Pollutants

Indoor Air Pollutants can affect your entire family.
Health effects due to indoor air pollutants may be short-term, and/or long-term. Short-term problems include a stuffy, odorous environment and symptoms such as burning eyes, skin irritation, and headaches. Long-term health problems often have a longer latency period and can be chronic in nature. The magnitude and duration of these detrimental health effects are influenced by many factors including: the pollutants themselves, the amount of exposure to the pollutants, presence of a pre-existing medical condition, and ofcourse age.
Other health conditions may involve some allergic reactions and often include: hypersensitivity pneumonitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma. These conditions are often triggered by pollutants such as mold, pollen, pet dander, dust, and bioaerosols. Symptoms related to bioaerosols include sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath, fever, and dizziness. Infections such as influenza, measles, and chicken pox are also transmitted through the air and thus a poor indoor air environment can further contribute to the spread of disease and illness. Overall, poor air quality may be responsible for a decrease in work performance, general feeling of poor health, reduced ability to concentrate, severe allergies and/or illness.
What Can I Do?
The truth remains that these conditions exist in every home, no matter how clean they are. While typical air filtration systems may help to remove many of the particle contaminants in your air, there is only one system that can truly provide a much healthier environment.
